New Trailers
Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon
Here's the newest trailer for the upcoming Transformers flick. Hopefully this one will focus more on the human side of things rather than those boring war robots. Couldn't be any worse than the second, could it?
X-Men: First Class
Can't say I pictured anyone other than Patrick Stewart as Prof. X but this is looking much, much better than it sounds on paper. The character mix and continuity is kinda strange and I don't care at all for the way Beast or Mystique look but the rest is surprisingly not horrible.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2
Ten years and eight films later and this series is finally winding down. It hard to believe that they've managed to keep most of the cast together throughout all these years but somehow they managed it.

A Song of Ice and Fire.
Trailer for the third episode of Game of Thrones. Sunday's on HBO.
Dumb ass cousins fighting over a TV show
As will happen during shows “based on medieval times,” Podniestrzanski and his cousin “got into a verbal altercation” over which of the cable program’s characters was going to win, according to a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office report.
With the argument between Podniestrzanski and Joshua Ross escalating, Podniestrzanski allegedly “took a swing at” his kin. After scuffling for a bit, Podniestrzanski’s cousin “ended up getting thrown in to the front window during the altercation.”
Podniestrzanski was arrested for misdemeanor domestic battery and transported to the county jail, where he is currently being held. Link

Bewere the Night
by Holly Black, Elizbeth Hand, and various others.
Kitsune. Werewolves. Crane wives. Selkies. Every culture has stories of such strange creatures - animals turning into humans, humans shapeshifting into animals. Sometimes seductive, sometimes bloodthirsty, but always unpredictable like nature itself, these beings are manifestations of our secret hearts, our desire to belong to both worlds: one tame and civilized, the other unfettered and full of wild impulse. Here are stories that will make you wish you could howl at the moon until your heart bursts with longing or feel yourself shedding your human body as easily as a snake sheds its skin. Beware the night...it might not kill you, but it will certainly steal you away!
Defiance(Book 4)
by Lili St. Crow
Now that sixteen-year-old Dru's worst fears have come true and Sergej has kidnapped her best friend Graves, she'll have to go on a suicidal rescue mission to bring him back in one piece.
Mercy Burns(Book 2)
by Keri Arthur
Mercy Reynolds is a reporter in the San Francisco Bay area, but she’s also more—and less—than human. Half woman, half air dragon, she’s a “draman”—unable to shift shape but still able to unleash fiery energy. Now something will put her powers to the test.
Morpheus Road: The Black(Book 2)
by D.J. MacHale
At the end of The Light, Book One of the Morpheus Road trilogy, Marshall learned the truth about what happened to his best friend Cooper. Now in Book Two, the POV switches to Cooper and we get to see his side of the mystery. What does his story have to do with Marshall and the journey along the Morpheus Road? It's time to learn more . . .

WTF China?
A few weeks ago Chinese officials all but banned time travel in their media.
It's scary how far they will go to control their people.
In a statement dated March 31, the State Administration for Radio, Film & Television said that TV dramas that involve characters traveling back in time “lack positive thoughts and meaning.” The guidelines discouraging this type of show said that some “casually make up myths, have monstrous and weird plots, use absurd tactics, and even promote feudalism, superstition, fatalism and reincarnation.” Link
The issued guidelines discouraged producers and writers from using time travel, along with any elements that contain "fantasy ... random compilations of mythical stories, bizarre plots, absurd techniques," if they want their programs to stay on the air. SARFT, however, has the power to pull the plug on any show whenever it wants. Link

All the Lives He Led by Frederik Pohl
In a tired, terrorist-plagued 2079 still reeling from the aftereffects of a massive Yellowstone eruption, Brad Sheridan escapes from America's refugee camps by signing up for an overseas indenture. Chance earns him a spot working in Italy's lavish commemoration of the 2,000th anniversary of the destruction of Pompeii. Beneath quiescent Vesuvius, tourists enjoy entertainments real and virtual. Ben's ambition is limited to minor scams and romance, but fate places him near the epicenter of a terrorist plot of unprecedented scale.

After the Golden Age by Carrie Vaughn
The Line by Teri Hall REPRINT
An invisible, uncrossable physical barrier encloses the Unified States. The Line is the part of the border that lopped off part of the country, dooming the inhabitants to an unknown fate when the enemy used a banned weapon. It's said that bizarre creatures and superhumans live on the other side, in Away. Nobody except tough old Ms. Moore would ever live next to the Line.

The White Luck Warrior(Book 2)by R. Scott Bakker
As Anasûrimbor Kellhus and his Great Ordeal march ever farther into the wastes of the Ancient North, Esmenet finds herself at war with not only the Gods, but her own family as well. Achamian, meanwhile, leads his own ragtag expedition to the legendary ruins of Sauglish, and to a truth he can scarcely survive, let alone comprehend. Into this tumult walks the White-Luck Warrior, assassin and messiah both.
A Kingdom Besieged by Raymond E. Feist

Since then, peace has benefitted both nations, and the Kingdom has been free from the threat of another Keshian invasion. Yet now, the dark clouds of war gather again. . . .
The Unremembered by Peter Orullian
Millennia pass, awareness of the hidden danger fades to legend, and both song and veil weaken. And the most remote cities are laid waste by fell, nightmarish troops escaped from the Bourne. Some people dismiss the attacks as mere rumor. Instead of standing against the real threat, they persecute those with the knowledge, magic and power to fight these abominations, denying the inevitability of war and annihilation. And the evil from the Bourne swells….
